This may be the nuttiest idea I've come up with yet -- my anarchist affinity group members have already made it quite clear that they think it's absolutely ridiculous, that I should drop this whole line of thinking. No problem, even if they only suffer it as some strange kind of discordianist humour; between me and you and a billion WWW surfers, I'm dead serious about starting an ISM for anarchist aliens. Yeah, you read me right -- I said an ISM for anarchist aliens! If you're not actively left in Israel-Palestine, you might not know about this group, ISM, the International Solidarity Movement. Remember Rachel Corrie? She was a 22-year-old American ISM-er, before she was bulldozed to death by the Israeli army. Ring a bell? From the home page of the ISM website, here's a brief paragraph about the group: The International Solidarity Movement (ISM) is a Palestinian-led movement committed to resisting the Israeli occupation of Palestinian land using nonviolent, direct-action methods and principles. Founded by a small group of activists in August, 2001, ISM aims to support and strengthen the Palestinian popular resistance by providing the Palestinian people with two resources, international protection and a voice with which to nonviolently resist an overwhelming military occupation force. In practice, the ISM is a vessel that allows non-Palestinians, Israelis and Internationals, to be active allies in the struggle against the occupation of Arab villages by the IDF. What I am proposing is a group that does the same for non-human actors, that allows them to aid us in the struggle against corporate globalization and the capitalist occupation worldwide. Nothing less! Okay, here's a theoretical question that may help frame the debate: Do ants and other insects know that there are conscious creatures that are called humans, or do they perceive us as features of the landscape that must be navigated around, but not talked to? It's extremely likely that infinity runs in both directions: there have got to be beings on a larger scale than we, occupying the same space as us, right here, right now -- we're just too dumb to notice. In terms of actual proof of the existence of other so-called intelligent species, there are no shortage of OOPAs here on Planet Earth -- Out-of-Place Artifacts at the scene of the mine, pyramids that couldn't even be built with modern-day computer engineering and space-age technology. Read the oldest Sumerian civilization accounts of creation -- in the words of Dan Bern, aliens came and fucked the monkey!

Now, whether you call them aliens or angels, if they're from Nibirus, Mars, or God's bunghole, it's largely irrelevant. The relevant question is: are they good or bad? Do they have our best intentions at heart, or do they intend to enslave us, even harvest us? ... Or have they already? There are all kinds of theories on the topic, but none of them have ever been substantiated, we don't know for sure. Well, if you accept the first premise that aliens actually walk among us, then let's take one more step outside of our speciesist mental prison cell for a minute. No race is all good or all evil, despite what Hobbes and Rousseau would have us believe; not humans, not the non-human animals around us, and not the multitude of aliens races and trans-dimensional energy beings that cruise through this big ball of wax. So if you believe that in potential, the Plaeidians are at least as diverse as we humans are, running the whole gamut of the political spectrum, then it's only logical to conclude that there MUST be alien anarchists -- interstellar revolutionaries that also don't shower too often, squat abandoned spaceships, dumpster-dive big bins of energon cubes, and travel across the galaxy sabotaging Death Stars! I'm happy to know that there already is a group of human anti-authoritarians that constantly plot space travel by non-state actors: they're called the Association of Autonomous Astronauts, and they're a fun bunch of guys and gals. To my knowledge, they don't have a chapter here in Israel/Palestine yet, but I'm thinking this is a great excuse to start one up. We need to get creative, shake things up a bit... If you're interested in taking part in rituals that will call on other creatures of like liver and pancreas, those bluer-skinned Venusians that grew up with every possible privilege, had all the xyQuot and ZufrSop that anythree could ask for, yet moved to the slums of the solar system, AKA Earth, to learn about our crazy cultures, identify with our oppressed species, and work with us for world wide revolution... then contact us --
